About me

My name is Nick. I am a native English speaker and fully qualified English teacher.

I grew up in Brighton on the south coast of England. I studied French and Russian at university and was lucky enough to spend time on the beautiful French island of La Réunion and then in St Petersburg, Russia. I speak fluent French and Russian.

Since completing a TESOL qualification in 2006 I have taught in France, Russia and the UK. I have worked at language schools and universities including the University of Brighton, the London School of Economics and International House.

I started my career as an English teacher in France where I was responsible for creating and teaching specialised English courses to professionals from a wide range of industries including food production, IT, fashion and finance. I taught in companies such as McCain, Cargill and Joules.

Based in London since 2008, I teach English to individuals and small groups. My clients are all around the world and are of different ages and backgrounds. Some are learning English to support their studies, others are learning English for specific business needs in industries such as property, coal mining, medicine, media or entertainment. I teach mostly online but also have clients in London who learn English in person.

And the name Scooter English? That's inspired by my first teaching job buzzing from one English lesson to the next on the cobbled streets of Lille in France.
